The Pine Island Community Scholarship Application is now available! This application allows Pine Island seniors to apply for numerous scholarships offered by local businesses and organizations - there really is something for everyone! Application materials can be found in the PIHS Community Scholarship Schoology Course (access code: V3N7-TS63-N9DGR). Application materials must be submitted on Schoology by Friday, March 24, 2023.
As part of the application process, students will complete a general application form which is the same for all scholarships included in the community application. Students may fill out the general application form ONCE and then copy that information into subsequent scholarship applications. As a part of the general application students will also be asked to complete a short essay (Part V of the general application). Details about what information needs to be included in the essay can be found in each of the scholarship descriptions. It is recommended that Part V of the application be tailored to the specific scholarship.
Applicants will also be asked to submit a recommendation from a community member not affiliated with the school. The same letter of recommendation can be used for each scholarship, however applicants need to submit a copy of this letter for each individual scholarship. Likewise, applicants must ask a teacher to complete a google recommendation form. The teacher recommendation form only needs to be completed once and can be used for all scholarships to which students are applying (Note: there is no need to submit the teacher recommendation form on Schoology as this part will be completed by the teacher who has agreed to fill out the recommendation on your behalf).
This 2023 Community Scholarships guide can be used as a resource to review the scholarships offered and materials required. The scholarship application will be open from February 27-March 24, 2023 within Schoology. Scholarship awards will be presented at the Award Ceremony in May. Please reach out to Mrs. Hoeppner with questions.
