The Theater and Drama class performed “Christmas Shorts” for the high school students and visiting grandparents this morning. Made up of short scenes and monologues, theater students have been working since Thanksgiving to rehearse, costume, block, and memorize the show. This marks the 7th year Mrs. Laack’s class has performed the day before Christmas - a Pine Island holiday tradition!

Smiles, laughter, and a little friendly competition! Our 9–12 grade students loved spending time playing bingo with their grandparents. It was a perfect way to connect across generations and celebrate together before winter break.

The Independent Living Class has been working on treats for Winter Bash. They had to pick a treat that they believed would be the most popular treat at the Bash. They had to cost it out at 50 cents or less per treat, including packaging. They then had to create an advertising poster, a commercial, and a table display for their product. Tickets will be given to students and guests at Winter Bash to "buy" their treat. The group who "sells" the most treat will win a special prize.

Our annual Toy & Gift Drive and Holiday Gift Event was a huge success this year! We were honored to serve 52 families and 118 children from our district this holiday season—amazing!

We truly have one of the best communities in Minnesota. The kindness, support, and generosity shown each year are incredibly inspiring. Thank you to the Pine Island and Oronoco communities!

This event would not have been possible without the generous support of the following organizations and individuals:
Pine Island Schools; St. Paul Lutheran Church; Pine Island Methodist Church; Oronoco Presbyterian Church; Mission Quilters; St. Michael’s Church; Pine Island Baby Closet; anonymous monetary donors; Pine Island Lions Club; and Pine Island American Legion Auxiliary.

We also extend our sincere thanks to our additional drop-off location hosts:
Hardware Hank; City Hall; Island Market; Frandsen Bank & Trust; and Pine Island Methodist Church.

Thank you all for helping make the holidays brighter for so many families! 🎁✨
