Announcements for February 2nd, 2022:


  • The lunch menu for Tuesday and Thursday will be swapped. Today’s menu is Teriyaki Chicken.


  • TODAY: Roots and Shoots will meet today during PROWL in Mrs. Schimek's room. All members should attend as we will be ordering t-shirts and going over finalized plans for our winter retreat! 


  • GIRLS SECTION WRESTLING, FEB 11 in Hastings 11:00am


  • NO CASH is accepted for admission.   Spectators must purchase tickets online only.

  • Section (1/2/3/4) ticket prices are $10 for adults and seniors, and $6 for students.

  • Spectators may view the tournament from the following locations:

    • Permanent bleachers (top loading from the walking track, east side of fieldhouse)

    • Portable bleachers (follow walking track to the stairway on either side of Mat 3/4)

    • Spectators may stand along the upper walking track at any location.

Grades: 7-12 no parent required

Grades: 5-6 required a parent to participate

Personal items: All bags and possessions are subject to search at any time during the trip.

Illicit activity: Drugs, alcohol, tobacco or other illicit substances will not be tolerated and will result in removal from the event and parents will be called to pick up their child at their expense.

  • Meals for: Saturday - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner; Sunday - Breakfast, Lunch (Dinner will be on your own for Friday night and Sunday night, fast food such as Culvers or McDonalds)

  • Child (7-12): $48.00

You will need to bring:

  1. Ski/Snowboard gear (unless renting)

  2. Sleeping Bag, Pillow, Mattress for the floor

  3. Towels and Toiletries

  4. Warm Clothing

  5. Money for 2 fast food meals (during transportation)

  6. Optional: additional snacks, pop, cards, games

  7. MONEY FOR A MOVIE Saturday night in Virginia, MN


  • Dishes, stoves, fridges, and microwaves

  • Bathrooms w/showers

  • All participants will be sleeping in an open hall area with adult chaperones (2 male and 1 female)

  • Rochester Olmsted Youth Commission is looking for new members to become part of a leadership group working within the city and county on improving things like Mental Health, Environment, Arts and Culture, Human Rights, Community Service, and Community Engagement. The county commissioner for area is hoping for some interested Pine Island students. You do need to be a resident of Olmsted County to be involved.   • Part-Time Student Custodial Sub Job Opportunity:

The pay rate is $13.16/ hr. Minimum Age requirement 14 yrs. 

After school evening hours Monday - Friday as needed (Could be any of our school buildings, but primarily at the HS/MS Building).

  • Pine Island Trap Team- Trap team registration is now open. If you plan on shooting this spring you must be registered with Mr. Smith by February 15th. See Mr. Smith for registration forms.

  • SENIORS- This is a reminder that senior pictures for the yearbook should be submitted to Mr. Smith by February 15th.  They can be emailed to [email protected]



  • HS Staff: All Honors English 10 students need to report to Mrs. Organ's room on either Jan. 10th or 11th. Please dismiss them from PROWL. Then, beginning the week of Jan. 23rd, I will be meeting with these students every Monday or Tuesday for the remainder of the semester. Please excuse them from PROWL.   • If you need to make changes to grades, please follow the instructions that were emailed to you.


  • 3rd quarter Honor Pass Permission slips will be handed out on Monday, January 23rd.  Parent permission slips must be returned before the new passes will be handed out.  (2nd quarter passes will be honored through Monday, January 23rd). The new passes will go into effect on Tuesday, January 24th).


  • Thank you for your donations for Casual Wednesday.  $185 is being donated to PBIS and the S.O.P. room from the 2nd quarter donations.

  • You can call the custodial staff directly for any maintenance needs? The extension is 3220.  (After 2:30, call 3221).


  • Student devices to check out- If you have a student that forgot their device, we have a limited number of devices to check out from the 5-12 Library. These devices should be returned when not in use/ by the end of the day and are not to be taken home at night.


  • Casual for a Cause Wednesdays - Want to wear jeans mid-week?  You can for a $2 donation you can on Wednesdays! We donated $242 to the Holiday Helper program from the 1st quarter donations!

Donations for the 2nd quarter will be going to PBIS/SOP. Stop by the office Wednesday morning before school to make your donation and grab a sticker.
