My name is Megan Schimek and I teach biology and the Project Lead the Way Biomedical Sciences Courses at Pine Island High School. I also co-teach the EcoliteracySCHOOL (Students Collaborating in Health Oriented Outdoor Learning) mentorship program that we have with the University of Minnesota Rochester.

I graduated from North Dakota State University (Go Bison!) with Bachelor's degrees in biology and science education and have a Master's degree in Natural Science and Environmental Education from Hamline University. I have been teaching in Pine Island since 2007.

In addition to teaching, I advise the schools Roots and Shoots environmental club. I'm a Minnesota Master Naturalist volunteer and am one of the  instructors for the "Big Woods, Big Rivers" course at Whitewater State Park.
