Key Highlights from the January 5, 2026 School Board Meeting
1. School Calendar Approved
The Pine Island School Board approved the 2026–2027 school calendar, which features a refreshed layout designed to be easier to read and understand. The school year will begin on September 1 and conclude on May 28. The calendar can be found on our website under the District tab.
2. Board Reorganization
This meeting served as the School Board’s annual reorganizational meeting. Board member roles, responsibilities, and committee assignments were reviewed and approved.
3. Celebrating the SUN Room
The Board recognized and celebrated the outstanding work taking place in the SUN Room, highlighting the positive impact it continues to have for students with special needs.
4. City–School Collaboration
City Administrator Elizabeth Howard joined the Board for a discussion on the strong partnership between the City of Pine Island and the school district. The conversation focused on continued collaboration and shared efforts to support students and strengthen the community.




We would like to thank our dedicated School Board members for their time, leadership, and commitment to our students, staff, and community. Their hard work and thoughtful decision-making help guide our district and support student success every day.
