The 2016-17 school year marks Becky’s 26th year of teaching in Pine Island. She taught 8 years as a kindergarten teacher before moving to the 2nd grade level. Becky is a native of Pine Island, graduating from Pine Island High School in 1983. She attended Hamline University in St. Paul, earning Bachelor of Arts degrees in Elementary Education and Psychology, as well as a Masters of Arts in Education degree. Becky enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially her four-year-old grandson, Karsen. Her other hobbies include reading, gardening, playing board games and attending concerts and theater productions.
Traci graduated college from MN State Southwest in Marshall, MN. She received her Masters degree from Winona State University. She has been teaching in Pine Island for twenty years and has taught grades K-2 over the years. Traci has been married for 23 years and has 3 boys. Ben is Junior at Stout University in Menonomie, WI. Noah is a senior in high school and Josiah is a junior. Traci enjoys supporting Pine Island ahtletes and when she is not doing that, does enjoy baking!
Mrs. Ellingsen graduated from Winona State University in 1984 with degrees in elementary education and specific learning disabilities. She is now entering her 33rd year of teaching, with 31 of those years being in the Pine Island School District! She also obtained a Masters Degree of Education in 2010, from Hamline University. Mrs. Ellingsen lives by West Concord, MN with her husband. She and her husband have 2 grown daughters, a son-in-law, and one grandchild. In her spare time, she loves to read and travel when she is able. She loves being a part of the Pine Island Educational community!
Marissa Koenigs will be a student teacher from The University of Minnesota Duluth in Shari Ellingsen’s classroom. She graduated from Stewartville High School in 2013. Marissa enjoys hiking, baking and reading. She is looking forward to being a part of Pine Island schools!
Amy is kicking off her 9th year of teaching. She taught in Rochester for two years before joining the wonderful teachers at Pine Island. She graduated from Winona State University with her undergrad degree as well as her Masters degree. Amy has two children, Gavin and Madison. She loves spending time with her family and friends!
