Mrs. Stacie Dallmann
I live in the Oronoco area with my husband and two children. I grew up in rural Mantorville. After graduating from UW-River Fall, I spent several years traveling the globe with my family. We relocated back to MN to be near family. I enjoy being in the outdoors camping, kayaking, and hiking with my family. I am excited to begin my second year at Pine Island Elementary. Go Panthers!
Mrs. Catherine Eayrs
I have been teaching first grade for fifteen years of my extensive career in education. I'm a graduate of the U of MN--Minneapolis with BS and MA degrees in elementary education with an English minor. I enjoy working at Pine Island Schools and I think it is an awesome school district! I have previously worked in both public and private schools. One highlight of my career was teaching second grade at the International School of Berne where I enjoyed living in Switzerland and traveling around Europe for three years. I am also a published author and have done a variety of projects in children's literature and local history.
I grew up on a farm west of Pine Island in the Berne (West Concord) area. My daughter, Annemarie, attended Pine Island Schools for twelve years and is now a senior in college. My favorite things include spending time with family and friends, hanging out with my pets, reading, hiking, baking, and doing activities in the fine arts.
Mrs. Jodi Giesen
Hello and welcome to First Grade! I am very excited to be working with you and your child this year. First Grade is an important year for children and I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with all of my students. I am eager to get to know all of the personalities that will fill our room. This is my 15th year teaching in Pine Island--I cannot believe how fast the years go by!
Originally from Kasson, I earned my Prek-grade 3 license from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. I also have my Master's Degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University. I currently live in Pine Island with my husband, Cal, my son Beckett and our two dogs. We are also expecting a baby girl around the beginning of 2017! In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my son, photography, reading, walking my pups, shopping, and watching MN Wild Hockey.
Mrs. Kate Holcomb
Hi! I'm Mrs. Holcomb! This is my third year teaching first grade at Pine Island. Before that I taught first grade in Rochester for 15 years. I grew up in Delafield, Wisconsin (yes, true PACKER fan!); I graduated from Winona State University with a Bachelor Degree and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education.
I live in Rochester with my husband, Donny, and our two boys: Cayden (13), and Carter (11). They are very active and keep us busy cheering them on in football, basketball and baseball! I enjoy reading, running, playing volleyball, and most importantly spending time with my family and friends!
Mr. Tim Nehring
Hello, I am Mr. Nehring! This is my seventh year teaching first grade at Pine Island Elementary School. Previously, I taught English abroad in Taipei, Taiwan for three years. I grew up in Byron, Minnesota and went to Luther College, where I graduated with degrees in Elementary Education and History. I received my Master’s Degree from Walden University in 2014.
I live in Pine Island with my wife Liz and our pets Ricky (cat) and Rubi (pup). We will be expecting our first child in December. I enjoy spending my time reading, traveling, and fishing up at our family cabin.
Mrs. Katie Welle
Hello! My name is Mrs. Welle and I am excited to be teaching first grade again this year!
A little about me: I grew up in Faribault, MN. After high school, I attended the College of Saint Benedict. I started my teaching career in Saint Cloud, MN where I taught third grade for four years. Then my husband and I moved to Rochester and I was lucky enough to start teaching in Pine Island! It's hard to believe this will already be my fourth year teaching in Pine Island!
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy reading, running, shopping and cheering on our Minnesota sports teams!
