Coach Dickie

College Winona State University, Winona MN.
B.S. in Social Science Education/Teaching 7-12
Coaching Certificate
Previous Experience The 2005-2006 school year will be my 9th year as head coach of boys and girls cross country at Pine Island. In addition, I have been the girls track and field head coach since 1996. The spring 2005 season brought with it a trip to the True Team State Meet for the girls where they placed 3rd after winning the Section 1 title. I qualified for and completed the Boston Marathon in April of 2005. This is one of a couple of hundred road races I have completed since I ran track and field at Dover-Eyota High School in the 1980's.
Coaching Philosophy I feel privileged to be able to work with so many young people and have some small part in helping them with fitness
awareness and becoming productive young people in school and beyond.
Academics are important and stressed as well as the life long sport of running. I am pleased that the 2001 girls cross country team won the section academic competition and then won the state title with a 98.57% average.
