In 9th Grade US History
In American history the students will be finishing a unit
on the Revolutionary War. Then they will study about the writing
of the constitution and Washington's government.
In 10th Grade US History
The American history 10 students are discussing industrial
expansion in the United States.
World Cultures
In world cultures class, the students will be studying about
Southeast Asia. Each student will also be presenting a report
and power point presentation about a country they researched.
European Studies
The European Studies classes are beginning a unit on Modern
Europe/ Industrial Revolution.
Government
The students have recently finished their current events project.
They have been studying the formation of political parties
and local government, along with a presentation by Minnesota
state senator David Senjem.
Economics
The Economics classes have just finished their projects evaluating
the stock market and the Dow Jones Industrial Average. They
are now currently studying personal finances and the Federal
Reserve System.
Attitudes
The students in attitudes class are exploring ways to improve
personal communication.
Law
This course is a one-semester course that explores crime and
the criminal and how our legal system attempts to deal with
them. Students also learn about their individual legal rights
and duties and the process used in our court systems if either
is violated. Attorneys, police officers, judges, and corrections
officers share their knowledge and viewpoints. A field trip
to the Olmsted County Government Center is usually taken toward
the end of the course.
