Accounting
Accounting can help by providing you with the basic accounting principles used in business and personal financial management. Manual and computer-based accounting practices for service businesses, merchandising businesses, and corporations will be used, as well as an accounting simulation that will help students learn what it’s like to run a real-life business. This course provides an excellent foundation for careers in business or further course work in accounting.

Business Tech and the Web
This is a one-semester, hands-on course designed to acquaint students with the fine art of WebTop publishing and desktop publishing. This class will show you how to design creative Web pages. Students will use desktop publishing to create great-looking newsletters, reports, flyers, announcements, invitations, or presentation materials. Students will use the Internet (the Web) to research various topics and then design final reports.

Advanced Computer Applications—Word
This course would be helpful to all students. It is a one-semester course designed to teach students advanced word processing software for business and personal applications. Areas covered may include macros, enhanced columns and tables, merging of files, and desktop publishing.

Advanced Computer Applications—Excel/PowerPoint
This course is a one-semester course designed to teach students how to enhance their business and personal applications in the areas of spreadsheets and presentation graphics

Introduction to Business

Introduction to Business is a survey course that offers a relevant and practical presentation of factors that influence our economy. Consumer information and career guidance are emphasized when appropriate. Students will be exposed to a variety of topics that will serve as a base for future business courses. Topics covered include economics, marketing, management, entrepreneurship, international business, business ethics, consumer rights and responsibilities, and credit. This is a semester course.

Marketing

As the world becomes smaller and as American business moves into new frontiers in developing countries, the study of marketing offers many opportunities for you to improve your knowledge of the world’s economy. Topics covered include an introduction to marketing, basics of marketing, marketing planning, developing and distributing products/services, and advertising and sales. This is a semester course. Students enrolled are encouraged to join DECA.

Personal Computer Applications

This is a required course for graduation. Students will learn how to format a variety of documents that they will be using throughout high school and the rest of their lives. This includes memos and letters, reports, tables, charts, job applications and related documents, and other skills related to word processing. This is a semester class.
