IN ORDER TO SUCCEED, WE MUST FIRST BELIEVE THAT WE CAN. Nikos Kazantzakis

Hello!  My name is Michelle Roberts.   I am a Special Education Teacher and one of the Speech Language Pathologists at Pine Island Public Schools.  I have been working with elementary, middle, and high school students in 1st through 12th grade since 2007.  I am very grateful to be a part of the team in the Pine Island School District.

My family roots are from Rose Creek, MN a very small town southeast of Austin.  I am originally a "Rebel" graduating from Southland High School, in Adams, MN.  I started college later in life attending Mankato State University where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Disorders.  I later received my Master of Science Degree from the same college, although with a slight name change to Minnesota State University, Mankato.  I have my American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certification in Speech Language Pathology.    I have many years experience in the public schools, which also includes Caledonia Elementary School and Jefferson Elementary in the Rochester School District.

I love my job and the many students I work with.  However, my heart truly belongs to my family.  My husband, Rodney, is a deputy for Goodhue County. We have five children in our family and two dogs.  My husband's two oldest children, Ricky and Ashley, are both married and have children of their own.  Although they live far away, having grand children is a wonderful blessing. My husband and I also have three children together Madeline, Benjamin, and Isabella.  In my free time, I really enjoy spending time with my family, reading, playing games, camping, and other outdoor activities.

I look forward to many years of teaching and the exciting new experiences along the way.  Please feel free to contact me with any speech and language concerns for your child.
