Pine Island Elementary School Therapy:
My name is Hannah, and I am the mental health therapist for Pine Island Elementary School. I have a master’s degree in social work from Augsburg University, and I am a licensed graduate social worker. My job is to help kids and families reach their goals. I meet with kids who have concerns like anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), difficult behavior, or who have experienced traumatic events, among other things.
My primary goal is to help kids express emotions in healthy ways. We often work on coping skills like breathing or counting to 5, and identifying and verbalizing feelings, so that kids can begin to use these skills in their daily lives. We may also talk about past experiences or other things that are having a negative impact on their lives. Throughout this process, I work closely with families and teachers to identify what’s working well and what isn’t- I truly believe that the person who knows your situation best is you.
If you are curious about mental health services or would like your child to see me, please contact me at [email protected].mn.us or 507-356-4849 extension 3056. I look forward to answering any questions you might have!
