Hi! My name is Mrs. Prange and I am the K-4 Math ADSIS teacher. This will be my 10th year teaching at Pine Island. I had previously been in 5th grade teaching math and science for 8 years before taking this new position! I love being able to work with every grade level team by leading a math small group during MIT time. I also will get the privilege of working with some students individually to continue to build their math skills and confidence.

I grew up and graduated from high school in Red Wing, MN. I went to college in Winona, MN at Saint Mary’s University. I graduated with a K-6 Elementary Education degree with middle school endorsements in both math and language arts. I also graduated with a Psychology minor. I love learning so much that between October 2012 and May 2014 I went back to school at Saint Mary’s University for my masters degree. I now have my M.Ed in Teaching and Learning. Between June 2015 and August 2016, I also continued to take Graduate level courses so I currently have an additional 30 credits beyond my masters.

My husband’s name is Jonathan and he works for Fairview Hospital in the technology department. We own a home in Red Wing, MN. We have a 3 year old mini goldendoodle puppy named Minne. We also have a daughter, Stella, who will be 3 in September and just had a baby, Abe, this past March. We also are lucky to have lots of family in Red Wing - my parents, as well as my brother and his family! My sister and her family live in Chaska, Minnesota.

Growing up, I was a dancer. My mom owns a dance studio in Red Wing and I have been teaching dance at my mom’s studio since I was in high school. I continue to teach a little bit when I can during the school year. I have known I've wanted to be a teacher ever since I was a young girl. I am excited to continue growing as a teacher by trying new things in a completely new setting this year. Over the years of teaching 5th grade math, I have found my passion in watching students not only grow academically in math, but also to believe in themselves and have the confidence to accomplish anything that comes their way. Working with small groups of students in math has been one of my favorite parts of teaching. I am looking forward to another positive year!
