Lisa Daak

Introduction
Hello, I'm Lisa Daak.  I have been teaching in Pine Island since 2002.  From 2002 until 2012 I was an elementary special education teacher.  I had students with Learning Disabilities, Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Other Health Disabilities.  Starting in 2012 I took on a new role of District Due Process Facilitator.  I currently do the special education testing for students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade in Pine Island.

Personal Background/Interests
I moved to Pine Island at the age of 12.  I graduated from PIHS many years ago.  I have four children.  Mikenna is in 9th grade, Collin is in 5th grade, Ava is in 3rd grade, and Grayson is 3 years old and in pre-school.  I am married to a wonderful guy named Nick and we love calling Pine Island our home.  My family loves to go camping in the summer and we have a seasonal camping spot at Bluff Valley.  My favorite thing to do when I have some free time is scrap book.  I spend a whole week in the summer away from all distractions and get a lot accomplished.  I also enjoy reading, taking pictures, and golfing.

Educational Background
I attended Upper Iowa University and received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Special Education, and English/Language Arts.  I then attended MN State University for my Master's degree in EBD and LD.  I recently earned another Masters Degree in Special Populations from Kaplan University.
